Solutions that share common projects

In brief:
1. It is _possible_ to share common projects between solutions. But not
the separate files or folders. Files and folders can be shared using
unix server and symlinks in repository.
2. For first time you can project as you wish, but for reuse you
should use "Add from source control" operation.

Hello,
I am evaluating your product, and it seems good. I have one question,
though.
We are having 3 websites, each of which I'd like to make into 3 solutions.
Now these websites share some files like images etc, which I'd like to make
into a separate project. I'd like these 3 solutions to share this same
project.

Can your product handle this? If so, how will it checkin the shared
project? Will the changed code that is checked in from one solution be
reflected into the second solution when it is checked out?

Is there a better way of managing this, so it works with your product?

Thanks!
