Error with putting MS Access database under source code control

( SVNSCC , Access 2000 VBA, Latest, WIN 2000/XP  )
Type: Public Status:Closed Created: 25 Jan 05 01:00 Updated: 02 Feb 06 02:00
--> Igor Pushkov (admin)  at 02 Feb 06 02:00 writes

New version of plug-in 1.3 is tested with MS Access and work fine.
--> Igor Pushkov (admin)  at 18 Apr 05 04:00 writes

Your trials extended. Here is the debug dll:
http://www.pushok.com/files/PushokSVNSCC.zip
--> Garth Lezama (user)  at 14 Apr 05 04:00 writes

I tried version 1.1.5 and it still will not work with Access 2000. Here are
the issues

1. When you add a database to an svn repository it creates the local
directory but does not add it to the remote repository. I attached a
screenshot (svnproxy 1.1.5-fig1) to show where it stops.

2. I used TortoiseSVN to add the local directory that SVN Proxy created to
the repository. This worked fine. However, when I created a database from
the repository and checked an object I will not commit the change. I
attached a screenshot (svnproxy 1.1.5-fig2) to show the error messaage.

If you will send me a debug dll and reset my trial account (it has expired)
I would be happy to help you debug it.

Please try our new version 1.1.5. It should work. Thank you.

We are working on new version of SVN plug-in. I analyze your debug log
and found problem. It will be fixed in new version. I will notify you.

Anything new on this issue?
--> Garth Lezama (user)  at 22 Mar 05 03:00 writes

Sorry for not getting back to you sonner. I have been swamped at work and
this is not a priority for anyone but me. I have enclosed the debug file
and a screenshot of where access stops
Debug file

Sorry for delay with answer. To help us in finding a problem you can
download the debugdll: http://www.pushok.com/files/PushokSVNSCC.zip
Unzip it to replace exiting. Then try to repeat attempt. It will
produce the debuglog.txt, which can help me to find the reason of
problem. Thank you.

I have heard no response from you. I am keenly interested in getting this
to work as I have quite a few Access projects that because of scale need
source code control. I am willing to help in any way I can as this would be
a great benefit to your company and myself.
--> Garth Lezama (user)  at 27 Jan 05 01:00 writes

Ok, I think that I am making progress with this.
I did the following after getting your response:
1. I created a new Event Management database from the Access wizard to test
on the client

On Win2k Server
===============
2. I created a empty folder c:\event
3. I created a subdirectory under the respository root
svn import c:\event file:///c:/data/event -m "Initial Load"

Under SVNProxy in Access
========================
-My SVNURL is svn://192.168.0.100/data (check responded with an OK)
-SVN Module is event. (check responded with an OK)
-LocalPath is F:\Event Management.scc

The issue now is now that the source code control component keeps saying
checkin but just stays there. I include a screenshoot (accesscreen.bmp)
In addition, Access is creating the local source directory
(workingdir.bmp)

How can I troubleshoot where the issue is? Whether it's at the server or
client end. Thanks for your response.

I believe you should put "LeadCRM.scc" as module name. Since empty
module name is abnormal and means that all you files will go into the
root of repository.
Let me know if this not helps.
--> Garth Lezama (user)  at 26 Jan 05 01:00 writes

I tried the SVNProxy on Windows 2000 SP4 with Access 2000 and had the same
issue. Hope this helps. In this case as well the source directory Name>.scc was created as well as a sub directory .svn. Same error "cannot
create
the .scc directory."
--> Garth Lezama (user)  at 25 Jan 05 01:00 writes

Hi, I am in the process of testing your SNCSCC for use with Access 2000.
I am running Subversion 1.1.1 (from puskok) on a Windows 2000 Advanced
server in daemon mode
I created a repository called db with passwd file.
I an trying to put the database D:\My Documents\Freelance\LeadCRM.mdb under
version control

-My SVNURL is svn://192.168.0.100/db
-SVN Module is blank.
-LocalPath is D:\My Documents\Freelance\LeadCRM.scc

When I press Ok I get the message

cannot create D:\My Documents\Freelance\Huffman\LeadCRM.scc
But when I check, the folder LeadCRM.scc exists with a sub folder .svn

PLEASE ADVISE.
