When you changing binding to cvs server (server, protocol, etc) it is
better to not make this by manual editing of any files and istead repeat
the "open from source control" commadn
(
http://www.pushok.com/help/cvsscc/index.php?redirect=basic_getfromscc.htm)Accessing cvsserver using ssh requires to put either :ssh: or :ext: as
protocol. :ssh: is cvs nt client extension which mimics :pserver: protocol
behavior. This means that you have to issue "login" command in "Bind to cvs
protocol". Anyway, pressing "check" in "Bind to CVS" dialog you will be
able to see actual error message which will show what goes wrong.
Usage of :ext: protocol assumes that you should be able to establish
passwordless ssh connection to server. This can be done using
private/public key pair authentication. On the "Server options" property
page you will be able to configure paths to private key and associated
executables. :ext: protocol works slightly more fast than :ssh: but
requires extra configuration.
