Branches in PowerBuilder 10.5

( CVSSCC , 10.5, 1.4.x, WIN 2000/XP, 1.1.17  )
Type: Public Status:Closed Created: 15 Feb 07 02:00 Updated: 16 Feb 07 02:00

I must try to restore it on my side.
--> John Urberg (user)  at 16 Feb 07 02:00 writes

- I created a tag in CVS and then created a branch off of that.
- I made sure all objects where checked in
- I turned off source control on my PB project and deleted the existing CVS
folder in the source directory.
- I turned source control back on. In your 'Please select a CVSROOT, module
and local path' dialog, I choose my module, checked the branch checkbox and
typed my branch in the combo box.

The second machine I left as is with branch check box unchecked.

Doing the above allowed me to check code in and out of the branch on the
one machine while still using the HEAD on the other machine. The only
issue I ran into was checking out an object in any branch in a module
caused it to look as if it where checked out in all branches.

How did you get branch and trunk solutions?
--> Oleg Akolupin (admin)  at 16 Feb 07 02:00 writes

Do you sure that you use branch and trunk?
This behavior is not possible in that case.

Note:
The PowerBuilder works with branches bad.
It seems, the PB can not merge branches.

--> John Urberg (user)  at 15 Feb 07 02:00 writes

I was able to get locking to work by unchecking 'Delete
PowerBuilder-generated object files'. I am now testing branches in
PowerBuilder 10.5. I have one machine on the main trunk and a second
machine on a branch. When I check out an object on the branch, it shows up
as locked on my machine on the main trunk. How do I set it up so I can
check out the same object in different branches?
