"[ls aborted]: server does not support ls" error while Bind in VS.NET 2003

( CVSSCC , VS .NET, 2.0.x, WIN 2000/XP, UNIX  )

Because you use UNIX CVS server (1.11.17) you should use our plug-in
version 1.3 (1.x branch). Please look at this article for more info:

Actually plug-in are much more resource dependant than other GUI
(like tortoise). Because of that we optimize it as much as possible
for speed, and use all new features that can increase it. In version
1.2 we have some options, that control this (for example it was option
"your server support ls command"), but now decide to make separate
branches for each server (UNIX or CVS NT).
Branches 1.x and 2.x almost equal in visible functionality, they
just make some internal things differently.

To whom it may concern,

I recently downloaded and installed CVS SCC Plugin for use in integrating
VS.NET with CVS. Here\'s my configuration:

CVS server running on SunOS 5.8 - Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11.17
(client/server)
On my PC, I have Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 2.0.62.1817
(client/server) and CVS SCC Plugin

Since we already have source files in the CVS repository, I opened our
solution in VS.NET. From within VS.NET 2003, I select File | Source Control
| Change Source Control. I select the solution in the dialog and click on
Bind. I get the CVS SCC Plugin dialog with information already populated. I
click CVSROOT Check and status shows that CVSROOT is OK. But when I click
CVS Module Check button, I get the following message:

[ls aborted]: server does not support ls

Clicking the Ok button returns an error: \"Reposity or module is not valid.
Please correct this first. If you are … \"

We currently also use Tortoise as our CVS client and it works fine, but are
very interested in CVS SCC for VS.NET integration with CVS. Thank you!
