Experiencing problems with PushOk

( CVSSCC , VS .NET, Latest, WIN 2000/XP, CVS NT > 2.0.51  )
Type: Public Status:Closed Created: 01 Feb 05 02:00 Updated: 03 Feb 05 02:00

Well, you have two options to solve that problem:
1. Configure both the plug-in and WinCVS for "checkout readonly"
option. In plug-in this done by default, WinCVS require to switch on
this explicitly. Actually this is most preferred mode to work with CVS
from IDE. IDE "likes" to have controlled files to be readonly. For
example if you start edit file, and it is readonly, IDE will check it
status and ask you to checkout files if needed. If file not readonly
IDE will not make such test.
2. If for some _seriouse_ reason you not want to follow suggestion 1
you can switch off option "Strict checkout status" in plug-in. This
instruct plug-in to consider file checked-out not when it was really
checked out, but also when it is just modified, even externally. This
way you will be able to commit (check-in) all files, not depending on
read-only flag and place of modifications. However you will loose:
a) ability for reserved checkouts, just because you not need anymore
to checkout file.
b) you will have delays with status determination. For example to make
sure that pending checking window show all modified files you will
need issue "refresh status" command.
In other words solution 1 is much more correct.

Ok, I am sorry. I mean commiting files when I say archive (archive is more
french than english).

So, tell me if I am right when I say this:

After I checkout my files from WinCVS, what I have to do is setting all my
files read only. Then, PushOk will detect it when I update my files.

I not really understand what you mean as "archive files". What can
this means?
I can assume that you talking about following behavior:
1. You modify file some were outside IDE, or inside IDE but not
checked out it before. The last possible if file does not have
read only file when it not checked out.
2. Thus, having file physically modified you can not "checkin" it,
since it does not appears as controlled.
Is that similar to your problem?

PushOk does not recognize the modifications applied to the project files,
then it does not archive the file. To correct this, we use the WinCVS to
archive all our files.

I tried to find an option or any operation to correct this problem, but
without success.
