RC0 version with requested functionality is released. You can review it by

The normal IDE have "Output from Source Control" window.
And this behavior of plug-in is the better in that case.
I will add "Disable auto-close progress dialog" option in SVN Proxy
properties later.

Status messages do not persist long enough to read - if an error occurs
during checkin/checkout, the task complete dialog will obscure the error
message. Even so, you have about 1 second to move the dialog aside and
read the error message, as it spontaneously vanishes before you can read
it.
